Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Vedic Vault?

The Vedic Vault is a project dedicated to preserving Srila Prabhupada's teachings through permanent metal engravings, ensuring their accessibility for future generations.

Are they the original books?

Only original books in this project. The text can be verified against both the PDF file and scanned copies of the original books. No changed text will make it through.

What type of preservation environment will the discs need?

None. They are fire and water proof. Plus the idea is that we will produce hundreds. Some surely will make it through the millenia.

What is the Rosetta Stone concept in this project?

Following the principle of the ancient Rosetta Stone, which allowed scholars to decipher Egyptian hieroglyphs by providing the same text in multiple languages, we are including a special section called "Truth and Beauty" in three languages: English, Greek, and Latin.

This 1,000-word text serves as a key for future civilizations to understand the content of these discs. By providing the same philosophical concepts in these three classical languages, we ensure that future generations can accurately interpret and understand Srila Prabhupada's teachings, even if current languages evolve or change significantly.

This multilingual approach adds an extra layer of preservation, ensuring that the spiritual knowledge remains accessible and accurately understood throughout the millennia.

How can the text on the disc be read?

The text is nano-carved into metal and requires 100x magnification to read. While it could be read with any optical device providing this magnification, these discs are meant for archival purposes rather than regular reading.

What about transparency of the donations?

It is all public in GoFundMe.

Are there hidden costs, staff, committees?

No overheads. Funds go directly to produce the archive discs. Receipt will be shown at completion.

How can I contribute?

See $1 as one page of a Srila Prabhupada's book preserved for 10,000 years. Full Vedabase is 14,600 pages = $14,600, with that we get to make the first copy.

The progression of the prices is:

  • 1st copy - $14,600
  • 2nd copy - $7,000
  • 3rd copy - $4,000
  • 4th copy - $2,000
  • 5th copy - $1,000
  • 6th copy - $500

$29,100 gets us 6 full copies and from then on, each full copy will be only $500.

Donate as many pages as you can.
